David Wilkinson

MPhys Physics (University of Oxford), PhD Astrophysics (University of Portsmouth)
David was Cambridge Analytica's lead data scientist on the Trump for President campaign. During the campaign he oversaw the research and modelling of turnout, candidate preference, political issue preferences, and many other models, for 80 million swing-state US voters. Currently he leads a team of data scientists involved with client-facing project delivery, and novel model prototyping.
Previous to working at Cambridge Analytica, he tackled data science problems in astrophysics, measuring and modeling the properties of stars and galaxies in the distant Universe. He joined Cambridge Analytica in 2015, combining the statistical approaches he used in his background in research with modern techniques in machine learning to deliver robust and actionable insights used across a range of political and commercial settings.
