Michael Strober

Michael Strober is senior vice president of Turner Entertainment Ad Sales, overseeing national advertising sales for TBS and TNT. As part of his overall sales leadership, Strober plays an integral role for the division by closely collaborating with Turner’s Emerging Technology group and investigating advanced advertising opportunities for marketing partners around the TBS and TNT brands. He is based in New York and reports to Frank Sgrizzi, executive vice president of Turner Entertainment Ad Sales & Marketing.

Previously vice president, Turner Entertainment Ad Sales & Emerging Ad Platforms, Strober led the sales efforts to AT&T’s long-term launch sponsorship for the Emmy award-winning Team Coco tablet sync app, as well as contributing to Turner’s overarching first and second screen ad innovations.

He began his career as a media buyer at FCB. Earlier in his career, Strober gained several years of ad sales experience working for Turner Broadcasting as an account executive for Cartoon Network, later crossing over to TBS & TNT as an account executive. He left Turner in 2000 to start his own company, Capture, an interactive advertising service. Strober later joined Gemstar TV Guide as the New York Sales Manager for TV Guide Channel. While at Gemstar, he was promoted to Eastern Advertising Director for the TV Guide magazine and two years later named National Ad Director. He returned to Turner Broadcasting in 2005 within the TBS and TNT ad sales department.

Strober graduated with a bachelor’s degree in economics from SUNY-Geneseo and a master’s degree in business administration from Baruch College. Strober is a member of the International Radio & Television Society Foundation and serves as a Board Director for Touchstream Technologies, a media technology company. He was recognized by PROMAX with a Gold Award in on-air sales promotion for his work at TV Guide magazine.
