Born on August 14, 1973, in Culiacán, Sinaloa, Jared Francisco Borgetti Echavarría is a former Mexican soccer player recognized as one of the most outstanding forwards in the history of Mexican football. He is the second all-time top scorer for the Mexican National Team, with 46 goals in more than 80 matches.
Throughout his career, he stood out for his powerful aerial play, leadership, and scoring consistency, especially with Santos Laguna, where he became the club’s all-time leading scorer. He also played for teams such as Bolton Wanderers in the English Premier League — becoming one of the first Mexicans to play in that league — as well as Cruz Azul, Monterrey, and Pachuca, among others.
After retiring, he has remained connected to football as a sports analyst and commentator for ESPN, and is also part of the FIFA Legends program, representing Mexico in various global football events and initiatives.
