Jacobo Fernández
A communications graduate from Universidad Anáhuac, Jacobo Fernández has dedicated nearly two decades to transforming the media and communications industry in Mexico. His career began at Publicis Groupe, where he has worked for over 17 years, holding key roles such as Digital Director, Strategy Director, and New Business Director, before being appointed CEO of Starcom Mexico in 2024.
Jacobo was part of the first generation of ISDI’s Digital Master’s program in Mexico and further enhanced his education with a course at Stanford School of Business, giving him a solid foundation to lead digital transformation in the industry. His vision focuses on integrating technology, data, and commerce to create complete communication ecosystems that adapt to clients’ evolving needs.
Throughout his career, he has managed accounts across industries such as automotive, tourism, QSR, pharmaceuticals, retail, and CPG, delivering innovative strategies that merge creativity, data, and technology. Jacobo views media as a tool for transformation, and his passion for technology keeps him at the forefront of industry change.
As a leader, he promotes a culture of collaboration and talent development, convinced that human growth is key to tackling future challenges. Under his leadership, Starcom aims to strengthen its position as a young, vibrant, and innovative agency aligned with the motto “Move People, Move Business.”
Jacobo is a recognized industry figure — a frequent speaker at events such as IAB, Adweek, and Merca 2.0, and a jury member at awards including Effie Mexico and the Festival of Media LATAM and Global. His leadership inspires teams and clients to think outside the box and transform their businesses.
