Shawn McDonough

In 1997, with several years of experience as a creative in Los Angeles, Shawn took his career abroad to become Creative Director at JWT in Mexico charged with Nestle, Ford, Kimberly Clark and Diageo top brands.

Having become interested in strategy, Shawn then applied planning principles in the area of conservation, as Director of Communications for Mexico's leading non-profit environmental organization PRONATURA.

Subsequently, as VP Director of Strategic Planning at GREY GROUP Mexico and then TBWA/Teran Mexico, Shawn was instrumental in consolidating the multi-disciplinary teams that would execute dozens of integrated communications programs with activations in mass, digital and retail media.

Shawn is currently charged with mainstreaming strategic thinking in agency culture at Omnicom Media Group in Mexico, designing content and media plans for businesses, entrepreneurs and innovators in a variety of industries.

Through the years, Shawn's experience has brought him in contact with many of the Fortune 100 companies: including Nissan, Walmart, P&G, Mars, Apple, Nike and Scotiabank, as well as The Global Environment Facility and U.S. AID.

Shawn has spoken publicly in Mexico in the national media, university symposiums as well as conducted courses on the relationship between strategic thinking and the creative process.
