Unconscious bias continues to influence how Asian and Pacific Islander (API) female characters are depicted in media and marketing. To help creative teams more accurately represent API women and girls in these industries, SeeHer, the largest global movement to eliminate gender bias in advertising and entertainment, Gold House, the leading Asian and Pacific Islander changemaker community, AMC Networks, Meta, Paramount Network, Publicis Groupe, Shutterstock and more have joined forces to create the first-ever #WriteHerRight: API Female Storytelling Guide.

This panel will officially launch the guide and include key insights from entertainment and advertising leaders, as well as feedback on the state of the industry from API women and girls. A panel discussion moderated by Janice Min featuring Eva Chen, Padma Lakshmi, Geena Rocero, and Jeannine Shao Collins will illuminate the immense opportunity that lies in authentic representation. The conversation will emphasize the need to invest in API women in front of and behind the camera, so the industry can better portray API women and girls, who are so often underrepresented or stereotyped.
