Mina Kimes

Mina Kimes joined ESPN The Magazine as a columnist and senior writer in May 2014. Her column focuses on sports business and culture, though her features have ranged from investigative to narrative. Kimes came to ESPN from Bloomberg News and, previously, Fortune Magazine, where she penned pieces on topics from arms exports to tainted drugs. Among other honors, she was the inaugural recipient of the SABEW’s (Society of American Business Editors and Writers) Larry Birger Young Business Journalist prize, honoring journalists under age 30. Since arriving at ESPN, Kimes has done memorable work, including a profile of Faker, the Korean superstar gamer who has taken the eSports world by storm. Kimes graduated from Yale University and resides in Brooklyn, New York.
