Sheetal Parmar

Sheetal has been a journalist at the BBC for over 12 years, and currently the Editor of Specialist Programmes for English Regions (local radio), overseeing all content on the BBC’s black/African and Asian programmes, as well as delivering special projects through collaboration with other BBC partners as well as non BBC.

Prior to this role, Sheetal worked at the Asian Network, where she was involved in a number of projects including launching the groundbreaking Love Bollywood show. After taking the show around the world, she moved to World Have Your Say at the World Service. Her work has also involved developing groundbreaking stories about British Asians for mainstream audiences and presenting the Sony Gold winning flagship Asian Network Phone In programme. Her documentary 'Undercover with the Marriage Detectives' was lauded by LA based production houses as the next big thing on TV.
