Dean Chalkley

Dean Chalkley is an award winning photographer and film maker whose broad creative reach traverses many genres, most notably the worlds of music and subculture.

A close and long running association with the NME has produced many iconic images. Recently one of his covers was voted in the top 3 best NME covers of all time. His images have graced many record sleeves and he has created high profile campaigns for brands including Ray-Ban, Levi’s and Adidas.

In 2014 Dean collaborated with renowned creative director Harris Elliott on the Return of the Rudeboy project, a significant marker to an under-documented but important sub-cultural group.

Dean’s work has been exhibited in galleries internationally including FoMu, Somerset House, The V&A, The Turner Contemporary, La Foret Museum in Japan. It also features in the permanent MoMA Collection.
