In July 2021, the “GIANT 3D CAT” appeared at Cross Shinjuku Vision, the newly installed curved LED billboard over Shinjuku Station’s east exit.
The cat went viral both within Japan and abroad.
It has been nearly a year since the cat, who has become the flagship character of the billboard, hit the screen; and now Cross Shinjuku Vision screens many different 3D ads and showcases the capability of 3D ads.
How was this project realized and what do they consider when releasing content?
In this session, we discuss the story behind the creation of the GIANT 3D CAT with the following speakers: Amane Kotani, the advertiser of the GIANT 3D CAT who developed Shinjuku east exit’s new landmark, Cross Shinjuku Vision and designed the 3D content project to improve the value and image of the neighborhood; Ryosuke Fujinuma from YUNIKA, who was in charge of management/organization of Cross Shinjuku Vision; Shinichi Yamamoto from Omnibus Japan, the director of the project who suggested to have a giant cat live in the Vision as its flagship content.
