Dr. Hana Hayashi

Hana is an Asia Pacific Director at McCann Public Health. She recently obtained Doctor of Science in behavioral science and social epidemiology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and keep working as a researcher there as well. She began her career in health communication in 2005. Her mission is to bridge the worlds of research and practice in health communication to create a healthier society. Maximizing her academic and professional experiences, she has led a number of behavior change communication programs for both the private and public sectors globally. In Japan, she led projects with Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, National Cancer Center and local governments such as Kanagawa city. Her work and career have been featured by numerous Japanese media outlets. Hana earned a Master of Education from the Boston University School of Education and a Doctor and Master of Science from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, as a Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholar. Hana is originally from Japan, and is a published author. Recently, Hana is appointed as a member for Fukuoka city’s health task force committee, the fifth largest city in Japan, and has been engaged in the city’s public health strategy development. Hana enjoys cooking and yoga. She completed yoga teacher training and loves teaching.
