Scout Bassett

Scout Bassett is a USA Paralympic sprinter competing in the T63/F63 classification. Born in China, Bassett was adopted by an American couple at the age of seven. Still learning English, she joined athletics to help connect with her peers. Through the support of the Challenged Athlete Foundation (CAF), Bassett began her Para athletic career with paratriathlon events. In her first international competition, Bassett won two Silver and one Bronze medal at the 2011 ITU Paratriathlon World Championships. She switched her focus toward sprinting events and made her Paralympic debut in the Rio 2016 Games competing in the 100m T42 and Long Jump F42. Most recently, Bassett won Gold (Long Jump F63) at the 2019 Parapan American Games. An active advocate of the Paralympic Movement, Basset actively teaches and participates in mobility clinics and inclusive workouts.
