Cheryl Callan
Cheryl Callan is Senior Vice President of Marketing for Weight Watchers North America. In her role, Cheryl oversees all marketing programs, including advertising, public relations and public affairs, retail design, customer relationship marketing, digital marketing, pricing and member marketing communications.
Most recently, Cheryl led the launch of the Weight Watchers 360°® Program, which builds on tracking PointsPlus® values and is designed to help make healthy choices second nature. In addition, she has spearheaded the development of breakthrough integrated brand campaigns showcasing the weight loss success and commitment to a healthy lifestyle of such celebrity ambassadors as Jennifer Hudson and Jessica Simpson. These partnerships have helped to contemporize the brand and have generated an unprecedented level of publicity for the market leader.
In addition, Cheryl drove the strategy behind the development of a marketing campaign for Weight Watchers Online, which allows people to follow the Weight Watchers Program entirely online. Building on the success of the Weight Watchers Online marketing programs, Cheryl led the development of the company’s first male-targeted campaign, which leverages the brand’s first male celebrity ambassador, Charles Barkley, and is helping to drive growth as the company continues to seek out new market segments. This year, she led the development of a campaign to introduce comedic actress Ana Gasteyer as the newest Weight Watchers Online ambassador.
While at Weight Watchers, Cheryl has re-invented the company’s approach to seasonal campaigns and promotions. In 2008, she launched Lose for Good, the company’s highly successful annual cause marketing program, which gives members the chance to help fight global hunger and chronic malnutrition simply by losing weight.
Prior to joining Weight Watchers, Cheryl was Group Director of the Consumer Marketing Center of Excellence for Johnson & Johnson’s Women’s Healthcare pharmaceutical brands.
Previously, she was Executive Vice President, Worldwide Account Director at N.W. Ayer & Partners where she led the development of award-winning advertising campaigns for Gillette and the global Avon business. Cheryl began her career at DDB, where she was responsible for managing all of the Agency’s J&J business.
Cheryl holds a B.A. from Fairfield University and an M.B.A. from Fordham University. She resides in New York City with her husband and daughter.
