Javier Jimenez

Javier Jimenez is Co-Founder and CEO of Mirada. Mirada is a convergence of perspectives focused on advancing the art and science of storytelling. The studio was built as a perpetual idea machine, a story engine, to engage broader audiences in better ways — and the highest level of this engagement comes from pioneering hybrid narrative experiences. In addition to overseeing day-to-day operations at Mirada, Javier steers the company’s business development, manages global sales and marketing, builds client and partner relationships, and cultivates the creative team.

Jimenez has spent over 15 years in production as an executive producer for hundreds of commercials and music videos at Motion Theory, the company he co-founded with Mathew Cullen in 2000. Motion Theory is a creative home for directors with a sharp visual and narrative focus. The company's roster of directors ranges from award-winning veterans to emerging filmmakers, all sharing extraordinary visual style and the storytelling ability to transform creative potential into compelling viewer experiences
across advertising and entertainment.

Javier has been heavily involved with the AICP and has also served on the Curatorial Committee for the organization’s prestigious award show. He has contributed awardwinning projects recognized by D&AD, the Grammys, the Art Directors Club, AICP, the Clio Awards and the AIGA. Javier was invited to a position on the Chicano Studios Research Center Advisory board at UCLA. Javier was profiled together with Mathew Cullen in LA Weekly in an article highlighting the most influential Los Angelenos.

Javier received his bachelor’s degree in Communications Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles. In addition to returning to his alma mater as a guest lecturer, Javier has been invited to speak at universities, seminars and festivals nationally and internationally for organizations including AIGA, Resfest (Italy, NY and LA), Semi-Permanent (Sydney & Perth), BYU, and AICP.
