Cristina Ruiz de Velasco

Cristina Ruiz de Velasco is Vice President and General Manager of Preferent Clients at AT&T Mexico. She is responsible to lead the brand operation to encourage its growth and streghten the business strategy.
Prior to this position, she served as Vice President and General Manager of Pospaid and Vice President and General Manager of Operation and Distribution. Also she has worked as Assistant Vice President, External Affairs at AT&T in Mexico. With more than 15-years of experience in the telecommunications sector, she led AT&T’s public policy advocacy in Mexico, helping to establish important links with government and industry leaders.
Previously, Cristina served as Executive Director of External Affairs for AT&T in Mexico, as Director of the Nextel Foundation and as Vice President of Public Affairs for Nextel Mexico, where she was in charge of government relations at federal and state levels, with the Congress, state legislatures, and regulation bodies. She has been part of areas related to the telecommunications reforms in Mexico to drive competition.
Cristina is the only Latin American woman included in the Global Telecom Women's Network, she’s a member of the Global System Mobile Association (GSMA), and a speaker on social responsibility and telecommunicatioins, among other activities. Cristina is now listed as one of the Forbes Mexico Magazine “100 Most Porwerful Women in Mexico 2016”.
Cristina has a degree in International Affairs from the Universidad Iberoamericana, and she has other graduate degrees from Mexico and other countries, including a diploma in Senior Management from the IPADE; the Leadership Program from Georgetown University, and a Finance Program from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
