Tess Alps

Until 2021, Tess was the Chair of Thinkbox, the TV marketing body she set up as its founding CEO in 2006. Prior to this, she was the Chair of the PHD Group in the UK.

Tess is a Past President and Honorary member of WACL; during her Presidential year she began what are now called the Talent Awards whereby WACL gives bursaries to promising women for leadership training.

In 2013 she was voted Industry Leader of the Decade by readers of Campaign, and, in 2007, Women in Film and TV gave her an Outstanding Achievement award. In 2018, the Advertising Association presented her with a Mackintosh Medal, the highest honour the industry can bestow. She is a Fellow of the Marketing Society and RTS and a member of BAFTA.

She now sits on the Council of the Advertising Standards Authority when she is not writing romantic novels, growing vegetables, tweeting about opera and politics, or editing her village magazine in the Chilterns.
