Stephen Hull is Editor-in Chief of The Huffington Post UK. Stephen was previously Executive Editor of HuffPost UK, joining the team from Metro, where he was Head of Content, shortly after launch.
In his role at Metro, Stephen led a team which established Metro.co.uk as one of the most talked about British news websites. He doubled traffic and transformed a little known digital arm of the Metro business into a cutting edge media product.
Stephen is responsible for all editorial output and standards on the HuffPost UK website, overseeing a team of editors and staff writers, as well as 9,000 contributing bloggers, collectively creating hundreds of news articles, blogs and features each week. The Huffington Post UK features news, lifestyle, entertainment, business, comedy, politics, sport, students and tech sections. Stephen's role also includes overseeing content strategy for the UK site, which includes new section launches. He has been instrumental in the success of weekly video series “Mehdi’s Minute”, presented by Mehdi Hasan which been hugely popular and receives on average around 7,000 views per episode in the first 48 hours.
A qualified journalist since 1999, who has been recognised for awards by his peers, Stephen had his first taste of reporting as a 14-year-old schoolboy on his local paper - the Basingstoke Gazette. He has a huge interest in changing media, social sharing content and understanding of how journalism has changed for a digitally focused market.
