Walter Frye is the Global Director of Brand Marketing at Amazon, where he’s responsible for the global strategy to drive brand affinity and business value for the company. His remit includes the annual holiday and Super Bowl campaigns, and efforts to deepen engagement with diverse audiences through Amazon’s onsite retail experience and beyond.
Prior to joining Amazon in 2022, Walter spent 15 years at American Express in marketing and business leadership roles. Most recently, he was Vice President of Global Brand where he oversaw the brand’s long-running Small Business Saturday and Shop Small programs, celebrity talent partnerships, card and lounge design, and multicultural marketing team.
Walter is on the Board of Directors for The Trevor Project. His awards include an Emmy for Outstanding Interactive Video, Billboard 100 Most Powerful Players in Music, AdAge 40 Under 40, and the Out100. Walter holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and M.A. from Yale University.
