Judi Lopez

Judi Lopez is an accomplished executive who has worked with the world’s top media brands to execute multi-platform partnerships in content distribution, marketing and advocacy. A member of Fuse Media’s Latino-led ownership and management group, Lopez played a major role in orchestrating Fuse Media’s exponential growth from a start-up cable channel to a multiplatform media company with a portfolio that today includes Fuse and FM (Fuse Music) linear and video-on-demand (VOD) channels; Fuse Digital; OTT channels and Fuse-branded apps; and live events.

As Head of Content Distribution and Advocacy, Lopez is responsible for managing licensing content partnerships, identifying new business opportunities and growth initiatives to drive greater value from the company’s portfolio of businesses and brands on all platforms. Lopez also leads all national and local advocacy efforts, collaborating regularly with the UnidosUS, Hispanic Federation, Congressional Hispanic Caucus members (CHC), Voto Latino and other Hispanic and grass roots organizations to advance the voice of Latinos in the media while upholding the company’s commitment to championing authentic voices and representation for underserved audiences. Additionally, she was appointed to the Federal Communications Commission’s Federal Advisory Committee on Diversity in the Digital Age under former FCC Commissioner Mignon Clyburn.

Previously, Lopez held senior executive positions at AMC Networks, including leading the national content distribution strategy and marketing efforts for AMC, Bravo, IFC and WE tv. Prior to AMC, she held executive roles in the finance, distribution and new business development divisions for Disney and ESPN Media Networks, leading the company's C-band (Disney Channel Home Satellite) business and as part of the inaugural team that originally launched the network with DIRECTV and DISH Network. She also was part of the strategic team that spearheaded the Disney Channel's evolution from a premium to basic service and the launch of Disney XD and Disney Junior.

Lopez is dedicated to paving the way for young people of color, especially women, to enter the media industry. As of January 2021, she became the first woman and first person of color elected to Chair the Board of Directors for the T. Howard Foundation (Diversity in Media). She has also been a member of the National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC), and a member of Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT). Lopez is a dynamic speaker who is frequently invited to keynote industry events and to share her expertise in Latino media.

In 2016, Lopez was among a select group of female executives invited to participate in the WICT Senior Executive Summit (SES), presented in partnership with the Stanford Graduate School of Business. She is also a 2015 Multichannel News “Wonder Women” honoree, and has been named to CableFAX: The Magazine’s prestigious “Most Influential Minorities” and “Most Powerful Women in Cable” lists several times. Lopez was also selected as part of a small group of industry leaders invited to share her oral history as part of The Cable Center's Hauser Oral History project.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from California Polytechnic State University in Pomona, California. She also attended Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM) University at Harvard Business School.
