Eileen Kiernan

Eileen Kiernan is the Global CEO of UM, an award-winning global media agency that leverages the transformational power of rich analytics and insights to drive growth and engage consumers across content and connections. Eileen is responsible for UM’s global Futureproof strategy, direction and operations, overseeing global management for UM’s clients, including American Express, BMW, Johnson & Johnson, Levi Strauss & Co. and Sony.

With more than 25 years of experience spanning brand stewardship, integrated marketing, creative strategy, business development and team leadership, Eileen brings a rich blend of purpose-driven creativity, innate curiosity and diversity of thought to her role. Under her leadership, UM was named Campaign’s Global Media Agency of the Year in 2021 and Adweek’s US Media Agency of the Year in 2020.

In her previous role as Global President, J3, Eileen led UM’s dedicated global Johnson & Johnson media unit, an independent, integrated full-service media unit. Prior to that, Eileen was the Global Chief Marketing Officer for UM, where she worked across all clients and disciplines globally to strengthen and enhance UM’s product offering to ensure the agency’s brand vision evolved in meaningful ways. Eileen also has 15+ years of publishing experience, having held senior positions at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia and Time Inc.

Eileen has worked on a number of internationally recognized efforts, including Coca-Cola’s Arctic Home global initiative and 2012 Cannes Lions winner “Coca-Cola Polar Bowl.” She was named a 2016 Media All-Star by Adweek Magazine and a She Runs It Changing the Game honoree in 2017. Eileen has served as a juror for award ceremonies around the world, including Cannes Media Lions and Festival of Media Global. Eileen sits on the board of the ANA Educational Foundation (AEF) and the Partnership for Responsible Addressable Media and is a member of Snap’s Client Council.

Originally from Ireland, Eileen lives in New Jersey with her husband Denis, daughter Grace and their many four-legged friends.
