Danielle Brooks

Danielle Brooks, is currently making her Broadway debut in the Tony Award winning revival of The Color Purple. For her performance as the strong and fierce “Sofia”, she was nominated for a Tony Award, a Drama Desk Award, an Outer Critics Circle Award, and received a Theatre World Award for "Significant Broadway Debut"

Brooks is best known for her role as "Tasha 'Taystee' Jefferson" in the Netflix Emmy-nominated series, “Orange is the New Black.” Danielle was the recipient of the Young Hollywood Award for "Breakthrough Actress” and nominated for a NAACP Image Award for "Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series”. Danielle is the face of Lane Bryant's Fall 2016 Campaign.

Brooks has also appeared in HBO’s “Girls” and Aziz Ansari’s Netflix comedy series, “Master of None.” On the big screen, Brooks voiced two characters for Sony’s “Angry Birds”, and starred in Oren Moverman’s “Time Out of Mind” and, “I Dream Too Much,” which premiered at SXSW.
