Catherine Williams

As the Chief Data Scientist at AppNexus, Catherine leads a team of two dozen analysts and data scientists who build tools and products that enable advertisers to optimize campaigns and publishers to manage and maximize yield. A member of the company’s Technical Leadership Team, she also plays an instrumental role in the AppNexus Women’s Network and guides the company in its commitment to creating a diverse and empowering environment for women in tech. Prior to joining AppNexus, Catherine held post-doctoral appointments at Stanford University and Columbia University, where she was an award-winning undergraduate and graduate instructor, and published peer-reviewed papers in academic publications. She also served as a software test engineer at Microsoft.

Catherine holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Washington and a B.A. from Grinnell College. She lives in New York City with her husband and two sons.
