Jack Dempsey Southerland III

Jack Dempsey Southerland III is the SVP of Programmatic Solutions. Jack is an experienced communications strategy professional with a wide range of account and agency experience. With a decade of traditional offline media experience, Jack is responsible for developing full funnel programmatic strategies for brands and agencies, working directly with sellers. Served with the task of introducing clients to the programmatic world and helping them succeed, he leverages his understanding of the online and offline media world, and helps to craft custom programmatic solutions that integrate into the larger media ecosystem to drive communication, business objectives, and ROI.

Jack joins PulsePoint from Varick Media where he served as Senior Vice President of Programmatic Solutions, helping to re-launch Varick Media Management (VMM) Trading Desk from an in-house operation to an external desk servicing MDC holding company agencies, independent agencies, and direct clients. Jack was responsible for leading revenue generating deals closing some of VMM’s largest deals in the financial services, package-goods, and automotive categories. Jack started at Varick Media as VP of Client Services, the first director of the client services department, where he built the department and team.

Prior to Varick Media, Jack was Associate Director at The Media Kitchen, a media planning and buying agency where Media Week named him Media Plan of the Year for his work with Panasonic and he won Business Marketing Association’s Communicator of the Year Award for his work with Vanguard.

Jack also held roles at OMD, Deutsch and Saatchi & Saatchi where he worked closely with top brands such as Johnson & Johnson, Procter & Gamble, Bank of America and Revlon.

Jack has a marketing degree from Georgia State University and teaches global Fortune 500, non-profits and startups about programmatic and digital solutions at General Assembly. Jack is also a motivational speaker and facilitator working with non-profits on leadership development, team building and organizational design.
