Greg Girard

Greg is responsible for IDC Retail Insights’ advisory and research focus on leading-edge application of retail analytics as well as functional areas of merchandising and marketing planning and execution. In his role Greg advises retailers to achieve key operational, tactical, and strategic objectives in buying, planning, assortment, allocation, replenishment, and pricing of merchandise as well as in core technology- and analytics-led marketing processes. He supports a variety of IDC research initiatives in big data and analytics and cognitive computing.

Greg brings over 30 years of experience to his responsibilities at IDC Retail Insights—the first as a management consultant and for the last 15 years as a supply chain industry analyst and product marketing and industry marketing executive and entrepreneur. He is known for spotting emerging trends early—from price optimization early in his career to machine learning and cognitive computing today.
