Barry Wacksman

Barry Wacksman is the Chief Growth Officer at R/GA, overseeing business development, corporate strategy, and industry thought leadership. Barry’s articles have been published in a wide variety of industry publications, and he is a frequent presenter at conferences and events around the world on topics pertaining to the digital age.

Barry is a key architect of R/GA’s vision of “The Agency for the Digital Age®,” which focused on growing brands through technological innovation. This vision seamlessly combined digital platforms that consumers use on an ongoing basis with the episodic, storytelling content of campaigns to help brands achieve differentiation in an otherwise commoditized marketplace for consumer goods.

Since joining R/GA in 1999, Barry has grown the company organically from an agency of fewer than 50 employees in one office to more than 1,000 in eight offices. Barry led the charge to acquire many of the world-class brands that make up R/GA’s client roster, from Nike and Verizon to L’Oréal and MasterCard.

Prior to joining R/GA, Barry was at APL Digital, the interactive marketing unit of global advertising network Ammirati Puris Lintas. At APL Digital, he managed business development as well as the global digital accounts of Compaq, Iridium, and LEGO.

Barry serves on the board of directors of the Advertising Educational Foundation, the Miami Ad School, and Pilobolus Dance Theatre. He graduated from Ohio State University with a BA in philosophy and was a PhD candidate in philosophy at Syracuse University.
