José Antonio Aguilar Contreras

José Aguilar is the director of RacismoMX, he studied Economics at ITAM and did an MBA at the University of Essex in England. He also has professional studies in Racism and Xenophobia from UNAM, El Colegio de México, and the University of Guadalajara.

During his career, he has focused on the defense of Human Rights. In 2019, he founded RacismMX (Educación contra el Racismo, A.C.), an organization whose main objective is to combat racism and classism in Mexico through research, education, and outreach. In 2021, he obtained the prestigious fellowship of the Echoing Green organization, recognized for being a global leader in racial equality. This recognition has also been received by Michelle Obama, the former first lady of the United States of America, and the founder of Teach for America, Wendy Kop.

He is currently also an assembly member of the Council to Prevent Discrimination in Mexico City.
