M.O
It has been a milestone year for UK R&B girl group M.O. The announcement of a deal with Polydor Records and US giants Interscope, followed by their first Official Top 20 single ‘Who Do You Think Of’ - which raced to Silver status, selling over 300,000 copies. A huge statement from a trio who have been rightfully bubbling on the UK’s tastemaker underground since 2013.
Annie, Frankee and Nadine’s MOBO nomination for ‘Best Song’ put them alongside Craig David, Kano, Tinie Tempah, WSTRN and Jorja Smith – and succinctly displayed where they should be ranked in the current roster of prime UK urban talent.
Their latest release, ‘Not in Love’ features one of the hottest rappers in the world right now in Kent Jones (We the best, DJ Khaled). The track was premiered by Mistajam and Fader, and subsequently added to BBC Radio 1’s A List, 1Xtra A List, the daytime playlist at Kiss FM and Capital FM. The track has amassed over 7.5m Spotify streams globally and saw them secure their second Radio 1 Live Lounge performance.
The track is another inescapable female anthem that looks to cement them, as the most credible girl group on the planet right now.
With a string of live dates already under their belt, including Stormzy supports, The Great Escape Festival, Wireless and Glastonbury – this month will see them play the prestigious Royal Albert Hall for Teenage Cancer Trust, followed by soon to be announced summer festival appearances.
