Kamal Ahmed
Kamal joined the BBC in 2014 as business editor and was promoted to the role of economics editor in December 2015, replacing Robert Peston. He previously spent four and a half years as business editor of the Sunday Telegraph's award-winning team, also helping to launch the Telegraph's annual festival of business for small and medium sized enterprises. Between 2007 and 2009, Kamal was Group Director, Communications, at the Equality and Human Rights Commission. Prior to that, he worked at The Observer as head of news and earlier as the Sunday newspaper’s political editor. Kamal also worked at The Guardian, in roles including Royal Correspondent and Media Editor, and at Scotland on Sunday, where he was deputy news editor.
