Paul McNamee

Paul McNamee was appointed editor in June 2011, the first time The Big Issue has had a single editor across all national and regional editions and online. He previously worked on the NME in London for several years, co-founded Irish magazine Blank and has freelanced for a range of newspapers and magazines, amongst them the Daily Mirror, The Guardian and The Irish Times.

He has been named Editor of the Year three times by PPA Scotland and was named British Editor of The Year 2013 by the BSME (British Society of Magazine Editors).

He is a regular voice on BBC radio.
