Paula Szuchman

Paula Szuchman joined The New York Times as Managing Producer of New York Times Opinion Audio in 2020. Ms. Szuchman was previously the head of podcast development at WNYC Studios, where she launched shows in many subject areas, including narratives, interviews, comedy, children and sociology. Before her work in audio, Paula spent many years in print and digital journalism. She started her career at Condé Nast, and then spent eight years at The Wall Street Journal. There, she was a reporter at Weekend Journal, and a Page One editor. She left the Journal for Newsweek and then The Daily Beast, where as managing editor, she ran the newsroom and daily and feature coverage. In 2010, Paula co-wrote the book “Spousonomics: Using Economics to Master Love, Marriage, and Dirty Dishes,” with the former Times reporter Jenny Anderson.
