Kyrstin Johnson is an NCAA gymnast at Temple University who gained national attention with her viral “Not Like Us” floor routine, earning a career-high 9.9 twice. In her first season as an Owl, she was named Specialist of the Week, Athlete of the Week, and earned First Team honors on vault and floor. Before Temple, Kyrstin competed for Talladega College, an HBCU in Alabama, where she was the program’s first recruit and helped establish only the second HBCU women’s gymnastics team. She made history as the first HBCU gymnast to compete a Yurchenko one and a half, led the team to the first NCAA meet win by an HBCU, and captured multiple event titles. She later qualified for Nationals, becoming the first HBCU gymnast to win an individual title, claiming the vault championship and setting a vault record of 9.925. After Talladega’s closure, she joined Temple, where she continues to build her legacy and pursue her perfect 10.
