Val Boreland

As EVP, Content Acquisitions for NBCUniversal Entertainment, Val Boreland oversees the buying and curating of content across NBCU’s broadcast, cable and streaming platforms: NBC, Bravo, E!, Oxygen True Crime, SYFY, Universal Kids, USA Network and Peacock.

Boreland’s team is responsible for high-profile deals across the entertainment portfolio, including Peacock’s agreement to bring Universal Filmed Entertainment Group releases to the platform following the theatrical release window and a multi-year movie output deal with Lionsgate. She works with third-party studios –domestically and internationally – to acquire content for all of NBCU’s linear platforms and Peacock, including original films and international series.

Prior, Boreland served as EVP, Content Strategy & Acquisitions for NBCU’s six cable networks, overseeing cross-platform content scheduling, acquisitions and promo strategy. She also led acquisitions for Peacock as it geared up for its launch in 2020.
