Marilla Perkins

Bolt’s Sr. Director of Marketing and Strategic Communications, started her career working at advertising agencies overseeing award-winning global campaigns for brands like Volvo Cars and Liberty Mutual Insurance. It was her time working on Google, specifically on an initiative that encouraged young girls to study STEM, that inspired Marilla to move in-house where she could work on products and brands that aligned with her values.
Now, Marilla oversees strategy, marketing, and public relations for Bolt Threads and its innovative materials including Mylo. She has secured coverage in the New York Times, Vogue, WWD, and Financial Times for Mylo and it’s brand partners including adidas, Stella McCartney, and lululemon. Marilla has recently completed the Circular Economy Masterclass at the University of Exeter.
