As the fastest growing demographic in the country, Hispanics are the most powerful consumer growth engine today, re-shaping American culture, business, politics, almost every facet of life. Any brand that wants to reach this consumer, must do it in language and in culture. To prove why this is so important Univision commissioned a new study with Nielsen measuring advertising performance among CPG brands which shows that brands that did not spend actively in Spanish language received a lower return on ad spend than brands that did. That means that brands that are not advertising in Spanish are missing out on a big part of America’s growth engine. Yet still, there are nearly 1500 major, national brands who do not understand the importance of reaching Hispanics in their language of choice.
