Aline Santos Farhat

Aline Santos joined Unilever in 1989 as a marketing trainee. She is currently Executive Vice President Global Marketing and Head of Global Diversity and Inclusion, responsible for all marketing capabilities and innovation excellence around the world, as well as leading Unilever’s steady march towards gender balance in the workplace.

During her career, Aline has been the architect of many product launches and brand building campaigns with purpose at the heart. Aline was part of the team who launched the iconic global Dove Real Beauty campaign and she led the Dirt is Good global campaign for Persil, OMO and Surf Excel transforming it into one of the biggest laundry brands in the world.

More recently, she has led Unilever’s #Unstereotype initiative that aims to eliminate outdated stereotypes from advertising while promoting progressive portrayals of people. Recognising the power of partnerships to accelerate progress she helped to launch the Unstereotype Alliance with UN Women – an industry wide collaboration to eradicate stereotypes and empower people in all their diversity.

As the head of Unilever’s Global Diversity and Inclusion programmes, Aline has worked with the board to increase female representation in management from 38% in 2010 to 47% in 2017, helping to achieve Unilever’s commitment to create a more balanced and inclusive workplace.
