The Girls' Lounge. The Glass Lions. The 3% Conference. The Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media. And even Cindy Gallop. These are just a few of the institutions dedicated to creating more opportunity and equality for women in the world of advertising and media. As the recent Kevin Roberts scandal made clear, there is still a lot of work to do, and—let's be frank here—more of it needs to be done by men.

Men still control a disproportionate share of power, particularly creative power, in the advertising industry. Despite their protestations to the contrary, men haven't done a particularly good job in mentoring sufficient women into positions of power, and, accordingly, there simply are not enough senior women to supply all the necessary support and encouragement younger women need on the path to significant corporate responsibility. As a result of this and other societal factors, the numbers of senior women are not keeping pace. If our industry is to get out of the cycle of sexism and inequality, men must do more. This panel will explore the ways men are still holding women back, intentionally or unintentionally, and how they can change their behavior to create a more balanced workplace. View Less
