Pete Favat
Pete is a School of Visual Arts graduate and, after working on Diet Coke and Coca Cola, moved to Boston to become CD on Converse. He later helped start Houston Herstek Favat as CCO, working on Converse, NEC and TIME magazine’s “Campaign of the year” for Fidelity Investments. There, he launched the most successful state anti-tobacco program, “It’s Time We Made Smoking History.”
In 1999, Arnold acquired HHF and as CCO, Pete co-created the truth campaign— ADWEEK’s “Campaign of the Decade.” Pete led the creation of memorable ad icons such as Converse’s Grandmama, Progressive’s Flo and Ocean Spray’s Growers.
Outside of work, Pete designed and built a sustainable LEED certified home on PBS’ “This Old House,” directed the acclaimed MTV documentary “I Can’t Breath,” and builds furniture out of salvaged materials. Pete’s work has earned Cannes Gold Lions, D&AD, three United Nations awards for Public Health, One Show, CLIOs, Kelly Awards, ANDYs and three Emmy Awards.
