The Drum are currently releasing a new documentary series called The Day Before Tomorrow that looks at how different industries are being disrupted by technology and human behaviour. So we’re hosting a discussion to look at how the marketing industries are being shaken up too. Dave Birss, the host of the series will be asking a panel of experts inside and outside of the marketing industry to call out the bullshit and point to the real opportunities. Get ready for some lively debate.

Any time of change is a time of opportunity.

Like every other industry, the world of marketing spends more effort protecting its existing systems rather than exploring new ones. And it's guilty of jumping on bandwagons because everyone else is doing it rather than because they’re the right thing to do.

We’re going to question all of that. We’re going to upset the apple cart. And we’re going to do it with the help of some big thinkers.

We’ll be challenging the industry’s focus on talking rather than doing. We’ll be looking at the issues advertising creates rather than solves. And asking if there’s a better use of marketing money than simply shouting to the masses.

Because these days carrying on as if it’s business as usual is probably the best way to ensure there won’t be a business at all.
