John Norman
John took the creative helm of TBWAChiatDay LA after making impactful work on both sides of the Atlantic.
Former Chief Creative Officer of The Martin Agency, John was instrumental in winning major work from ExxonMobil, Comcast, Kraft, Mentos, Living Social, Tracfone, Nespresso, Norwegian Cruise Lines, and Walmart Interactive, leading the latter brand to win its first ever creative awards at the One Club 2012.
As ECD of Wieden + Kennedy Amsterdam, he led the win for the global Coca Cola business and created the "Coke Side of Life" campaign, featuring the legendary “Happiness Factory” spot as well as Coca-Cola's Olympic advertising. He also led the creative process on work for Nike's Running, Women’s and
two award winning World Cup campaigns “Joga Bonito” and the acclaimed
“Write the Future”. John also helped launch the Honda eco-family of vehicles.
As Group CD at Goody, Silverstein & Partners, John launched Hewlett Packard’s much-lauded “+HP” work, awarded (amongst many awards), Creativity’s Campaign of the Year and Adweek’s Spot of the Year.
He’s also been Design Director for Benetton in Italy, a Graphic Designer for Nike and owner of his own agency – Tilford:Norman – where clients included Pizza Hut, Chili’s Restaurant, Footstar, Spyder Skiwear and The Limited Inc.
John’s work has been widely recognized and has won awards including an Emmy nomination, the Grand Prix Epica Award, the New York Art Director’s Vision Award, Creativity Magazine’s Campaign of the Year, and the Top 5 Award, multiple Cannes, Effies, and One Show medals, the Japan Nikkei Award, the Russian Grand Effie, Adweek’s Spot of the Year, and has been featured in almost every advertising and design publication.
