Kurt Unkel
In his current role, Kurt Unkel oversees the development & delivery of addressable marketing products and services that enable Publicis Groupe agencies and their clients to stay connected to digitally empowered consumers. He has global oversight of Audience On Demand® (AOD,) Publicis Groupe’s addressable media buying solution that combines industry-leading technology and proprietary partnerships to accelerate data-driven audience buying. Active in nearly 30 markets, AOD has served nearly 300 billion impressions for more than 1,500 clients in the past year.
Before joining VivaKi when it was launched in 2008, Unkel created and led digital strategy, investment, analytics and ad operations teams for 10 years within Publicis Groupe, with a special focus on General Motors (GM). While working on GM, Unkel helped lead the growth in digital spending from less than $20M to over $500M annually by developing strategies, metrics and infrastructure that supported a data-driven media buying approach.
Living at the intersection of advertising, data and technology, Unkel is a self-professed marketing hacker who is passionate about pop culture. He is imported from Detroit, where he lives with his wife and two daughters.
