Harrison Gaines is the Founder/CEO of SLASH Sports & Entertainment and a 2016 Juris Doctorate Graduate of the Thomas Jefferson School of Law, Sports Law & Policy Program.
Gaines represents Lonzo Ball (#2 pick Los Angeles Lakers) and Jamaal Franklin (Sichuan Tigers/CBA), successfully negotiating $38 million dollars in combined contracts during the summer of 2017.
Gaines also counts Lamelo Ball, Liangelo Ball, and Isaiah Austin as clients.
During law school, Harrison became a nationally recognized negotiator, being honored by the American Bar Association as a National Negotiation Semi-Finalist. Also, while in Law School, he worked at Impact Sports, a sports management firm that represents numerous NBA and NFL athletes. He played an influential role in helping the company obtain over $100M in contracts for two free agent athletes: Kawhi Leonard (San Antonio Spurs) and Will Barton (Denver Nuggets) in the summer of 2015. Additionally, Harrison worked at Encore Sports & Entertainment, where he secured, drafted, and reviewed marketing contracts for the firms clients which included Pro Bowl Wide Receiver Odell Beckham.
Prior to his legal career, Harrison attended Serrano High School (Victorville, CA) from 2003-07, where he was a 3-Time All-CIF Basketball Player, the school’s all-time leading scorer, and a member of the National Honors Society. Upon high school graduation, he enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania, which he attended from 2007-09 and graduated from UC Riverside in 2012. At both institutions he played on the Men's Basketball Team, accomplishments include leading the Ivy League in Assist/TO Ratio and ranking 3rd in the conference in Assists Per Game.
Harrison is active in the community and believes in the power of mentorship. He is the founder of the 501(c)3 nonprofit organization Life Above Basketball (LAB), focusing on developing young men beyond basketball.
