Ros Atkins
Ros Atkins began his career at the BBC over 20 years ago and currently presents Outside Source on BBC World News and the BBC News channel. He is also one of the two hosts of Radio 4's The Media Show.
A passionate advocate of explanation as a form of journalism, in 2021 Ros's explainer video about the Number 10 party scandal was watched over 11 million times in 9 days. His subsequent videos, on everything from the cost of living crisis to Novak Djokovik, have also gone viral and attracted huge global audiences. As have his current videos on the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Behind the scenes, in 2016 Ros set up The 50:50 Project, designed to increase representation of women across all BBC output, via self-monitoring and generating data. This has gone on to be used in more than 100 organisations in 25 countries and expanded to include ethnicity and disability.
