In this session...

The inside story of BBC News's coverage of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. This is a BBC Studios session, on behalf of the international, commercial part of BBC News.

During the first weeks of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, global audiences turned to the BBC to experience the frank and fearless journalism of the BBC’s Chief International Correspondent, Lyse Doucet and Anchor and Correspondent, Yalda Hakim.

In this interview, they'll lift the lid on the past few months of reporting from Kyiv and Lviv, two cities under siege.

Yalda will be on-stage. Lyse is currently in Kyiv, so will be joining us live on-screen.

From the live rooftop links to the makeshift underground bunker turned studio; find out how the BBC team have continued to bring us this unfolding story, amidst incoming artillery fire.

Both veterans of war reporting, we’ll talk about how their jobs have changed, including the rise of fake news and disinformation. Plus, how do you show empathy but keep emotion in check when reporting on scenes of horror?

Interviewed live on-stage by Ros Atkins, presenter of BBC Radio 4’s The Media Show and BBC World News's Outside Source. View Less
