In this session...

Not so long ago you needed to be Jamie Redknapp to make brands swoon but these days football dominates the national conversation to such an extent that even fans are attracting advertising deals. In this World Cup year, an all-star panel explore the pros and pitfalls of shouting about football in the social age.

This session is designed to explore the role that sport plays in the world of marketing and how changes in the way that sports coverage is delivered impact on the outcome for brands. Jamie Redknapp will be talking about his highly successful career in football and the passion that sport elicits in an audience. We are also delighted to be welcoming the most senior sports journalists from the Daily Mail, MailOnline and The Mail on Sunday who will talk about why football is so dominant and whether it should still be, in our post-Olympic, sports-obsessed country. Robin Clarke will be bringing his extensive experience to bear in our discussions on all matters relating to sports marketing and the Club Metro Aston Villa blogger, Andrew Raeburn, will bring insights from the world of sports blogging. Colin Kennedy, Assistant Editor of Metro, will be bringing these themes together to create an enjoyable and informative journey to examine the value of the sports environment to brands. View Less
