Katy Xu

Katy Xu is the Vice President of BBC Advertising, BBC Worldwide – Greater China and North Asia. She is responsible for generating advertising & sponsorship revenue from Japan, Korea, Greater China and Philippines market, while playing a crucial role in shaping BBC's commercial strategy across TV, Digital and content marketing solution.

Katy joined the BBC in 2012 and has been leading her team across 4 offices (Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and Tokyo) since. Prior to the BBC, Katy had gained her extensive experiences of broadcast business from working for world-renowned TV channels in Asia, ranging from Eurosport to MTV (Viacom) in both Singapore and Hong Kong.

Broadcast business aside, Katy is also an expert and early evangelist in the digital marketing arena where she started her career in 2001 with Microsoft Advertising Solution (MSN, Hotmail, Messenger etc) and had been leading the marketing and sales team in both Singapore and Hong Kong for a total of 7 years.

Katy holds Master of Economics from National University of Singapore, and currently residing in Hong Kong.
