Daisuke Furuta graduated from Waseda University in 2001, and joined The Asahi Shimbun in 2002. After working in branch offices in Japan, Daisuke worked as a correspondent of South East Asia in Bangkok and served as the Bureau Chief of the company’s Singapore office. He then joined the digital editions team of Asahi Shimbun. In 2015, he became the founding editor of BuzzFeed Japan.
