Chaucer Barnes

Chaucer Barnes is the Chief Marketing Officer for UnitedMasters, Inc. He works collaboratively across the Translation and UnitedMasters teams to provide diverse solutions rooted in culture and designed to build bridges across the enterprise. A nine-year veteran of Translation, Chaucer spent his tenure in several creative and strategic leadership roles prior to being named CMO of the Enterprise. Notably, he conceptualized and created the agency’s Context department – a discipline that sits at the convergence of creative, strategy, data, and social intelligence, ensuring that our work speaks authentically to its intended audience as well as fits within consumer conversations. Chaucer has spent over 15 years in the advertising and media brokerage landscape and, prior thereto, as an independent musician in search of the ideal toolkit to segment, mature, and monetize a unique base.


In creating a new normal for the way brands and creators alike mint and trade cultural capital, he applies tools and lessons from every chapter of his life – media planner, brand strategist, creative director, partnership architect, and independent musician.
