Devon Rodriguez

Devon Rodriguez is a New York City-based artist and TikTok content creator whose talents and creativity have amassed him a community of over 20 million followers. On TikTok, Devon is known for his highly realistic drawings of New Yorkers on the subway, where he draws commuters and captures their reaction as he hands them their finished portrait.

Originally from the South Bronx, Devon's early inspiration came from New York's famed street art scene, which led him to begin practicing graffiti at age eleven. Eventually, his interest shifted to portraiture and realism thanks to a childhood teacher, and he subsequently attended Manhattan's coveted High School of Art and Design in 2011, where he began sketching portraits of commuters' everyday lives on the New York City Subway. After graduating, he briefly attended the Fashion Institute of Technology, until the demand for his commissioned portraits began to grow drastically. In 2019, he was a finalist in the Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, which featured his stunning portrait of sculptor John Ahearn.

Devon then began sharing his art on TikTok around the same time he was able to ride the subway again - the summer of 2020. Quickly achieving viral success, Devon continued to build his following by capturing the lives of everyday New Yorkers amidst one of the most unique moments in the city’s history and that of the world at large. The enormous success of his work across his social media channels has led him to collaborate with a number of major brands including Ford, Chipotle, and Cheetos among many others.
