Josann McGibbon

Working in partnership with her longtime writing partner Sara Parriott, Josann McGibbon is the writer of all three "Descendants" movies in the global hit Disney Channel Original Movie franchise, deepening the story of the teenage sons and daughters of Disney's most infamous villains. She and Parriott also serve as executive producers on "Descendants 2" and "Descendants 3."

In February 2016, McGibbon and Parriott received a Writers Guild Award for their work on Disney's "Descendants."

McGibbon and Parriott are one of Hollywood's longest running female writing teams, with their work spanning the big and small screen. They launched their careers with the feature film "The Favor," which starred Brad Pitt, and are best known for writing the hit romantic comedy "Runaway Bride."

In 2007, they were nominated for two Emmys for Outstanding Writing for a Miniseries, Movie or Dramatic Special and Outstanding Miniseries for "The Starter Wife," which they also executive produced.
