Jehane Noujaim

Jehane Noujaim is an Academy Award-nominated director whose complex yet emotionally universal films reveal the extraordinary endeavors of everyday people. She directed and produced the feature documentaries: Startup.com (2001) with Chris Hegedus, Control Room (2004), Rafea: Solar Mama (2013) with Mona Eldaeif, The Square (2013) which was nominated for an Oscar, and most recently, The Great Hack (2019). The Great Hack premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival and launched globally on Netflix on July 24th of this year. In 2017, she and Angelina Jolie executive produced the Academy Award-nominated animated feature, The Breadwinner. In 2006, Noujaim was the first woman to be awarded the TED prize which she used to create Pangea Day, a live-video conference that took place in over 1800 locations - using the power of film to bring together people from all over the world. Noujaim’s work has been nominated by the DGA, IDA, Independent Spirit, and several Critics Association Awards. She is currently in production on a documentary series for HBO about NXIVM.
